Baguio City has lots of popular destinations, from the famous Wright Park to the historic Baguio Cathedral. There are tons of unique food places, as well as beautiful cafes around the city. No wonder, it never gets tiring to go on vacation in this cold city every now and then.

But if you think you’ve already explored all of Baguio, the city might have some new and hidden tourist spots that you haven’t discovered yet. Below are some food and hangout recommendations in Baguio City that you probably have missed:

      Tam-Awan Village

      366-C Pinsao Proper

      Operating hours: Monday to Sunday, 8 a.m. – 6 p.m.

If you want to have a glimpse of the natural Cordilleran landscapes without leaving the city, Tam-Awan Village is the place to go. A mastermind of the film genius, Eric de Guia or Kidlat Tahimik, this place features a hillside forest inside that looks like those seen in fairytales. You are advised to wear rubber shoes though, since the paths are rugged, and you’ll do some trekking.

If you’re not a fan of trekking, you can just admire the natural surroundings without going up the trail, or simply visit the art gallery located near the entrance. If you’re lucky, you can chance upon some resident artists who can draw out your portrait for a fee. After an hour of going around and taking photos, delicious meals await at the Tam-Awan Café.

How to go to Tam-Awan Village

From the city proper, go to Kayang Street (near Baguio market) and find jeepneys with signages, “Long-Long/Tam-Awan Village.” You’ll be dropped off exactly in front of Tam-Awan Village.

      Ili-Likha Artist Village

      Assumption Road

      Operating hours: Monday to Sunday, 8 a.m. – 9 p.m.

Ili-Likha Artist Village is a unique food park that can be easily located on Session Road. The place is very noticeable since it has a somewhat uncanny structure that sits beside modern buildings in the heart of the city. On the outside, it looks like a treehouse and it gives a very Cordilleran vibe that will definitely lure you inside.

This food hub features less than ten mini restaurants, with offerings that range from classic burger meals to famous Cordilleran dishes. Vegetarians will love this place since it houses a restaurant called Ibana Vegetarian Resto and Café, which offers organic food. If you want more vegan-friendly options, try visiting another vegetarian-recommended food place called Oh My Gulay, which is located along Session Road.
