Travel documents are no longer required by IATF

The IATF announced that they will no longer require travelers to take an RT-PCR COVID-19 test and to undergo quarantine when crossing provincial borders. Only travelers that show COVID-19 symptoms will be subject to self-isolation.

Previously required documents like travel authority and health certificates are no longer required by the IATF as well. Implementation of the uniform travel protocols have been in effect since February 27, 2021. The new protocols are applicable to all local travel via bus, ferry, and plane. Provincial buses from Metro Manila must depart from the PITX only. Private terminals are not allowed to operate.

However, the LGUs may still require travelers to take an RT-PCR COVID-19 test. If this is the case, travelers may avail of the DOT subsidy for COVID-19 testing at the Philippine General Hospital. The IATF requires that all LGUs have adequate isolation facilities for travelers and that doctors supervise all entry and exit points.

Minimum health and safety guidelines like physical distancing and wearing masks and face shields still apply. For authorized persons outside of residence (APORs) from government agencies, they must have a valid ID, travel order, and travel itinerary. The StaySafe.ph app will be the primary form of contact tracing in order to track any COVID-19 infections.
